Sorry its been so long. Its just hard to find things to update about when things are going so well. I got in the habit of using my LJ and an emo outlet in high school, and now there isn't much to be emo about, so its fallen into disrepair. Sometime about 4 years ago i simply ceased to feel emo-y about things.
I'm just up to the same thing. School (only taking circuits for the rest of the summer, which is a rather annoying class) work (high temperature alloys lab) and judo (now club treasurer).
No class now till monday because I don't have class on thursday and friday is the holiday so i'm not very motivated to get to sleep.
Kyle is gone for the weekend with him familia in one of the Carolina's, but i'm going on Dan's birthday fun trip to Orlando for Bahama Breeze on saturday. Its nice to not have much to do with the impending Engineering Junior Year closing in.
I should finish House season 1.

I saw that my friend Carolyn has updated after not updating for a long time, so I figured I better follow suit.
Went to the gym earlier tonight. Had a good workout. I'm going to get in better shape this semester/year and I'm looking forward to it. I think I'll have more time this semester to devote to the things I really care about.
I notice that the longer I'm away from college the more I feel like I'm picking up the traits of my parents. Particularly, my mom. The things that used to bother her are starting to bother me. Sometimes I do things that remind me of her. Its hard having my mom all the way on the other side of the country. I miss her. Sometimes I end up doing something that my Mom and I used to do and it makes me sad - well, more nostalgic.
I'm looking forward to going to work tomorrow, and then to gardening, and then to the gym, and then something with Kyle. Omg, we've been together almost two years. Crazy, right? Its still so good though.

Hai Guyz.
I got to see an scanning electron microscope at work today. It was kinda cool but a little bit boring. Didn't help that the room was kinda dark and the machine made a comforting humming noise. I'm learning a lot, basically.
Other stuff is good too.
Orgo (baby orgo for non-majors) exam tomorrow morning. I'm a little bit worried. I'll review more tomorrow morning. Gotta get a good night's sleep.
Anywho, i guess i should be off to bed.

so I started my new job today. I'm working with the High Temperature Alloys group in the materials dept at UF. I'm really happy about it! Today i cut samples in half with a diamond saw and read about the history of alloys used for jet engine turbines.
Uhm yeah, i have to get back to "The Superposition Principle and Undetermined Coefficients Revisited" ie, DiffyQ, or ie, M-A-T-H.

I'm just as happy to be here as i was a year ago, but the feeling is a little less acute and a little more like coming-back-home.
The roommate thing is working out just fine so far.
Went to sam's club and got food today with kyle, brad and chris. Hopefully i won't have to food shop for a while now, because books are gonna break my bank this semester. =( check it out:

Summer will be over next week! I think this is possibly the first time i'm totally excited to go BACK to school. And possibly the first time i have two functioning and fashionable pairs of sunglasses. Everything is safe and secure and warm and happy at UF. I hope i get along with my new rooomate. He's a guy, actually. No, please don't flip out on me. "WHAT? you're living with a guy?!" Its totally cool, and Kyle's cool with it, and my parents are ok too. Knowing Kyle, he'll probably make friends with Max.
I get to spend the whole week packing and hopefully seeing some important people.

As I mentioned in my last entry, Kyle got a ride down this weekend and went to the keys friday night with his family in their RV. Turns out that i did get to take my dad's car down to Fiesta Key on saturday morning and i stayed till sunday morning. Kyle drove back with me so he could catch his ride back to gainesville at 4 oclock. It was absolutely wonderful to be with him.
Hopefully that'll hold us over for a while...but probably not more than a week or two. I don't know if i'll get to see him again until he comes down for summer break...which is in a month...but sometime this summer Devin and I have to go up to set up our utilities with the utility service...maybe we can go in two weeks so i don't have to go too long without my babe. lol.
So yeah that's about it. I took like a three hour nap when i got home. Had some damn strange dreams. Sunburns make me tired. Sigh, was my own damn fault for staying out too damn long without a proper shirt on. Oh well.
I guess that's all for now kids. I'll try to update again when something interesting happens.

Seeing as my dear cousin Liz instructed me to update my lj, i thought that i would, seeing as i haven't in a while.
Ok, so...
I've mostly been working for the past...2? weeks. I work with my dad at a sign shop. We make interior signs, street signs, and large community/business ID signs (monument signs). I mostly spend my day laying vinyl, working with a laser engraver, and being driven crazy by my coworkers. I also occasionally go out into the shop to paint, spraypaint, sand, or ask someone out there to make so many pieces of PVC, aluminum, or plexi, etc, size 12" x 24" or whatever. Its not too bad. They hired three new people since i worked there over winter break. Izzy is about 23, and he works in the office with my dad. He designs signs and lays vinyl, and tries to teach me every little thing. It really gets on my nerves sometimes because he forgets that i'm not a total newbie at this thing. He has a tendancy to take over on jobs and be like "Do it this way!!" I am NOT used to be told how to do things, and its a little bit insulting. Anyway, our other new employee who works in the office is this woman Ruth, who's like 30 and is....a bit slow...to say the least. She kinda has to be baby-sat, and isn't very good at laying vinyl or complex tasks. She drives Izzy nuts. The third new employee is a welder named Mark, who's about 25. He's pretty cool. He tried to ask me out and I turned him down. Regardless of the fact that i'm with Kyle, he's a little old for me, and it'd be totally weird to date one of my Dad's coworkers. ::shudder::
In other news, I watched Dancing with the Stars with my Dad and Suzanne, and American Idol too. I'm glad Jordin won!! I'm actually listening to her right now. Isn't it crazy that what she sung on the show is already on limewire?
In other other news, I started working out. I'm hoping to trim up this summer, and it's going pretty well so far. It feels good, at least. I've been jogging a couple times now and last night since it was raining i did some weights and crunches on the patio. I think i might go jogging again tonight for lack of anything else to do. I'll wait till 8 or 9 to let dinner settle in my stomach. Ashley ditched me tonight to be with her family, seeing as she got home from college a few days ago. We were planning on going to the beach and hanging out. =( I miss her, and I'm kinda mad that she didn't tell me earlier so I could line up other plans. I dunno who I'd hang out with anyway. I don't get it. I'm definately not that attached to my family. Besides, they're totally boring. I'd definately hang out with my friends over going to the movies with them ANY day.
Seeing as this is memorial day weekend, I thought I might get to drive up to gville to see Kyle, but it turns out that I couldn't get a ride up. Its ok thought, because as I type, he's on his way down. The only bad thing is that he's going to the Keys with his family. I'm sure that i'll get to drive down there this weekend. Maybe i'll even rent a hotel room for myself and stay for a night or two. That'd be so awesome. I miss him, and he misses me, but its going ok so far.

Of the semester, that is.
Its hard to believe my first year of college is almost over. But that's a little bit cliche. I say that every time something big is about to end, or a big time frame is coming to an end. So yeah. I felt more "different" after my first semester. I felt like I'd done a lot of growing and learning to be on my own during fall, and then i went home for winter break, and I came back to gville afterwards and it felt like I was going home. Gainesville is a good home. I don't know the city very well, but i know the campus pretty well, and that's enough. I just feel normal now.
I still think about high school sometimes, and there are parts of it i miss. I had my friends with me 7 hours a day 5 days a week. And in college i feel like i'm alone more of the time. You actually have to go out of your way to meet up with friends. I have friends in some of my classes, but they're not like IB friends. Not yet, at least.
I'm not entirely looking foward to going home for the summer. I'm going to miss Kyle, because he'll be in gville for summer C taking classes. I can't wait to see Ashley though. I haven't seen her since winter break, I really miss her. I miss having a close girl friend, cause I really haven't found one at UF. I should probably work on making more new friends, but i think 'friends' is something that just needs to happen, you can't force it.
I'm glad this week is over. Had calc 3 exam on thursday, chem 2 exam on friday. Got an A on chem, calc is still ???, but hopefully i got a B. I'm gonna go chill in Justin's dorm now. Ciao.

I just watched Wild Kingdom on animal planet and it was all about cheetahs. Rather, the story of two cheetah moms and their cubs. One mom was young and inexperienced and her and her cubs desperately needed to eat. She took a huge risk and went after a wildebeast. In the struggle, she got hurt while the wildebeast walked away. She rested for the remainder of the day, but could hardly walk the next morning. Which meant she couldn't hunt, so she couldn't feed herself or her cubs. And the narrator was all like, "And Somala went quietly to a bush, limping all the way, to lay down and accept her fate. (On screen you see her lie down and close her eyes.) At first, her cubs think its a game. They don't seem to understand what's this means. Eventually, they wander off, driven by hunger pains. Its unlikely they will survive without their mother." At this point, I'm totally crying. Later on the show explained that she was found by park rangers and healed. All her cubs except one died while they were on their own. However, she still had to find that last cub. A miracle happened and in the end the mom cheetah and the last cub found each other. At which point i almost cried again.
So i'm guessing this means i'm PMSing.
